Abe Reitzen- Army Air Force

Abe Reitzen was born on March 2, 1915 in Passaic County, New Jersey, USA to parents Israel Reitzen (1880-1944) and Sara Alperovich (1890-1968). He had a sister, Helen Reitzen (1919-2013). He lived in Passaic, New Jersey, USA until he enlisted in the military. Abe registered for the Selective Service on October 16, 1940, in Passaic, Passaic, New Jersey, when he was 25 years old. At the time of registration, he was unmarried and had no dependents. On September 23, 1942, Abe enlisted in the US military in Newark, New Jersey, at the age of 27. He was listed as a citizen and a resident of Passaic, New Jersey. He enlisted as a private in the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA. He then attended and graduated from the Army Air Forces Technical Training in April of 1943; see Army Air Forces Technical Training. He served in the Air Force and was discharged from the military on January 30, 1946.
