Son of Phineas Barnes Taggart (1812-1892) and Elizabeth Hayward Pettis (1812-1885). Husband of Ellen Mary White Taggart (1844-1898). Father of 1) Alfred Darius Taggart (1869-?), 2) Mabel Taggart (1870-1870), 3) Annie L Taggart (1872-1872), 4) Sarah E Taggart (1876-1876), 5) Minnie Merrill Taggart (1877-1951), 6) John E Taggart (1879-1881).
