Alvah L. Fenton
I have an old studio photograph which is identified as Alvia or Alva FENTON which was taken at the C. P. McDannell Studio in Titusville, PA in 1886. Mr. FENTON appears to be in his 40's at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Alvah FENTON and have been able to locate the following information regarding Alvah and his family:

Alvah or Alva L. FENTON was b. 9 Aug 1842 in Titusville, PA to parents Joseph Marion FENTON (1800-1885) and Mary “Polly” PARKER (1803-1901). Alvah was one of 7 children born to this couple including Julia; Sarah; Harriet; Maryetta or Mariette F.; Henry Minor or Miner; Alvah or Alva L.; and Joseph Marion FENTON III, all born between 1824 and 1846. Alvah married Helen E. MERKER (1836-1917 of Brocton, NY) about 1904 and they lived in Brocton, NY for many years before moving to Grove City, PA.

Alvah died 6 Jan 1929 in Grove City, PA and is buried in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, NY. Alvah was survived by one brother Joseph M. FENTON of Hydetown, PA.

I’d like to get the photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
