The hair style looked like the 1940s, but the outfit and heel of the shoe looked like the 1930s.

Okay, the outfit was the key. She was in Middlesex, New Jersey...I'm assuming that's the borough of Middlesex rather than the county. I was born in a small town near there...Plainfield. We later moved to North Plainfield, and we had a lot of relatives in Middlesex County in towns like Dunellen, Piscataway, Metuchen, and New Brunswick.
