Obituary
Bentley Braxton Holbrook, age 8, of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.



He was born Monday, June 29, 2015, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, to Arthur Holbrook and Tonya Stambaugh both of Ashland, Kentucky.



Bentley loved going to church, singing, playing Fort Knott, and he loved playing with his cats. He was full of joy and always had a smile on his face.



He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur Holbrook and Judy Castle; maternal grandfather, Elvis Stambaugh.



In addition to his parents, Bentley is survived by five brothers, Ethan Holbrook, William Burchett, Connor Burchett, and Mason Burchett all of Blaine, Kentucky, and Dominic Holbrook of Ashland, Kentucky; one sister, Santana Williams of Ashland, Kentucky; maternal grandmother, Wilma Webb Stambaugh, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends who will sadly miss him.



Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Freedom Tabernacle Church, 242 Freedom Tabernacle Road, Webbville, Kentucky, 41186, with Brother Roy Adams and Brother Matthew Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Stambaugh Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.



Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023 and after 9 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2023, until the service hour at the Freedom Tabernacle Church.



Arthur Holbrook, Ethan Holbrook, Dustin Marcum, Kendra Stambaugh, Colten Stambaugh, and Chloe Pennington will serve as pallbearers.



Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky is caring for all arrangements for Bentley Braxton Holbrook.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
