Charles Bunstein Stover
I have an old studio photograph of Charles B. STOVER which was taken at the Bogardus Studio in New York City, NY. The photograph was taken in the 1880's when Charles was there as a member of the Class of 1884 at the Union Theological Seminary. Charles appears to be in his 20's at the time the photograph was taken.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Charles and his family:

Charles Bunstein STOVER was b. 14 Jul 1861 in Riegelsville, PA to parents Cyrus Stauffer STOVER (1830-1864) and Anna Barbara BUNSTEIN (1835-1876). Charles appears to have been their only child. Charles was the Parks Commissioner for New York City from 1910 to 1913. A granite bench overlooks Central Park’s Shakespeare Garden honoring Charles and claiming that he is the “Founder of Outdoor Playgrounds”.

Charles died 24 or 25 Apr 1929 in New York City, NY and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.

I’d like to get the photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
