Charles Thomas

I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Charles THOMAS of Pataskala, OH which was taken at the H. M. Platt Studio in Oberlin, OH. The photograph is dated 2 May 1879 with the young man likely in his 20’s at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Charles and his family:

Charles Edwin THOMAS was b. 15 Dec 1861 in Ohio to parents Charles Rees THOMAS (b. 30 Apr 1836 in Harrison Township, Licking Co. OH-d. 26 Apr 1882 Harrison Township, Licking Co. OH – son of Samuel THOMAS and Catherine JONES) and Sarah Isabelle “Belle” LOITMARS or DITMARS or FAIRY (1841-1929) and died in Harrison, OH and is buried in the Pataskala Cemetery in Pataskala, OH along with his parents. Charles was one of 9 children born to this couple including, Charles Edwin; Clara; William; Chenia “Clennie” Alfred; Frank J.; Estella; Armina “Minnie” Belle; Nora Catherine or R.; and Fannie May THOMAS all children born between 1861 and 1879.

Charles E. THOMAS, son, age 38, born Dec 1861, born OH, parents born OH
Fannie M. THOMAS, dau, age 20, born Oct 1879, born OH, parents born OH
+ 1 Lodger
