David E. “Peanut” Johnson Jr., 48, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born on May 13, 1964 in Port Huron to Betty and the late David “Sugar Pie” Johnson.

He graduated from Port Huron High School in June of 1982. He attended St. Clair County Community College where he received his certification as an electrician. David was employed for many years with the Lear Corporation. Recently, David joined Webber Automotive of Auburn Hills, Michigan, as a certified electrician.

David leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Betty Johnson; two sons, David Thomas and Davon Hawkins; a granddaughter, Averi Anderson; three sisters, Sheila (Ray) Johnson-Moses, Colleen Johnson, and Sonya (Clarence) Johnson-Thompson; one brother, Peter (Michelle) Johnson; four nieces and four nephews, Jontel, Breah, Ceiri, Ce’Nia, Clarence (CJ), Justin, OnRey and Zachery; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and a very special friend, Laura Hawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, September 24, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Leonard Meadows will officiate. Pallbearers will be Douglas Stewart, Andre King, Ronald Searles Jr., Eric King, John Collier Jr., John Johnson Jr., and Raleigh Johnson.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
