Dennis C. Johnson, age 70, of Plainfield Township, passed away on June 10, 2021, and went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born October 27, 1950, in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Rudolph and Helen Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Wayne Johnson. Dennis is survived by two sons, Joseph (Melinda) Johnson and Andrew (Stacy) Johnson; two daughters, Chrystal Johnson and Jennifer Freiburger; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his brother David (Linda) Johnson; sister-in-law, Kathy Johnson along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, which included a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. After his military service, Dennis attended Grand Rapids Community College earning an Associates of Arts Degree. Following his graduation, Dennis worked as a case worker for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services until his retirement. Dennis was a life member and Post Commander of the Creston VFW Post 3023 in Grand Rapids. A private family inurnment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
