Johnson, Dennis 5/4/1956 - 4/30/2021 Whitehall Mr. Dennis Gustave Johnson, age 64, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 4, 1956 to Melvin & Joanne (Szaloy) Johnson. He married the former Kristine Fricke on April 2, 2004. Mr. Johnson had been employed as a Millwright for Howmet, working for 20 years until retiring in 2018. Dennis was a hardworking and proud local union member. He always enjoyed being outside, taking hunting trips to the UP, traveling to Alaska and Canada, camping, and spending time at his cabin up north. SURVIVORS He will be missed dearly by his Wife, Kristine Johnson; Daughter, Rachele (Tony) Todd; Son, Richard Johnson; Step-children, Angela (Joe) Toller, Andrew Poulos, Adam Poulos; 16 Grandchildren; Brothers, Leo Johnson, Joe (Kim) Johnson, Adam (Heather) Johnson; Sister, Connie (Larry) O'Brien; Brother-in-law, Dean Fricke; Sister-in-law, Ginger Johnson; Furry Friends, Bailey & Little Man. He was preceded in death by his Son, Jeff Johnson; Brother, David Johnson; Parents, Melvin & Joanne. SERVICE Monday, May 10, 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Clock Funeral Home-Muskegon. I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
