I've always had cats AND dogs. My personal fav was "Felix" - a black cat with some white markings who reminded me of Felix the Cat. He was a "personality" - sometimes a brat! :)

Pita was my favorite cat name. We had an 18 year old cat who died, and we decided to get a kitten. He was so rambunctious, (in comparison to our old cat) that we were always saying "oh you little Pain in the a**.", so we shortened the phrase to Pita.
Barbara... you can pretend there's a mouse/rat just of camera...LOL

I had lots of barnyard cats but my favorite was an orange tabby named Taffy. He allowed me to dress him in doll clothes and feed from a spoon. He was 18 when he was sadly hit by a car. I was also 18......

Every cat we had as a kid, my dad named. Zipper, Ozzie, and Shezam were his best names, IMO. We also had a Smokey, Baby, Little Girl, and Baxter. Here's my big old tom cat, Zipper. He made a great baby doll!

I had a Sparky Doodle!
Dorothy lived well past 100 years. Just think of the changes and world events she witnessed in her lifetime, maybe the most momentous 100 years in all of human history. AND she was the leading edge of the "Greatest Generation"! I'd love to have known her. My mother lived 1912 to 2008, almost the exact same period.

I love antique photographs. In addition to sharing old photos of my family, I am also going through my collection of "antique store people". They've been sitting in a storage tub in my back room much too long and maybe some of their families will be able to find them here. If I'm able to identify the people in the photo, I upload it not only to AncientFaces, but also to Ancestry, FamilySearch, and Find-A-Grave. If the person in the picture is a military veteran, the photo also goes on Fold3. I figure that the more places I upload these pictures, the greater the chance that a relative will be able to find them.
