Edward Bernard Swanekamp was born on Nov 26, 1923 in Buffalo, New York to parents Bernard George Schwanekamp (1882-1925) and Anna K Heigl (1887-1967). He had siblings Mary (1908-1976), George (1910-2005), Raymond (1911-1977), William (1912-1981), and Charles Swanekamp (1922-1962). They all grew up and lived in Buffalo, New York. He joined the military on Feb 8, 1943 and served in the US Army until 1944. Edward married Rosemary Constance Okoniewski (1927-1995) and they had multiple children together.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
