Oh how cute! I love his hair, his clothing and the train. Such a sweet boy. My grandpa would have been 98 a few days ago so this helps me see what his world was like back in the day. 💜💜

Was surprised to see an 'ancient face' with a familiar name. Thanks for responding. Mother and she corresponded every Christmas, birthday etc, and I continued after Mom died. Met Donna Belle in 1992 when I took Mother back to Nebraska after my dad died. Had a great reunion with lots of family in Cook, Ne.

Elmer Dietrich Friedr Dettmer of Syracuse, Otoe County, NE was born on May 16, 1919 in Avoca, Cass County to William "Bill" Dettmer and Hattie (Kirchoff) Dettmer. He had siblings Harvey Henry John Dettmer, Vernon Richard Dettmer, and Arthur Dettmer. Elmer Dietrich was baptized on June 8, 1919 at First Lutheran (North Branch) Church in Avoca. He married Norma Jean (Roos) Dettmer on October 12, 1944 in Syracuse, Otoe County United States, and they were married until Norma's death on January 14, 2005. He had a child Dee Ann (Dettmer) Young. Elmer Dietrich Dettmer died at age 90 years old on January 16, 2010 in Syracuse.
