The picture is of Aunt Sue who was my father J H sister. She never went by Emma as that was her mothers name. Though some called her Emma Sue. The picture is at her house but I don't know the year.
I miss her so much as she was my telephone buddy! For years the area they lived in was long distance so it was rare to talk to her. She was always talking to Mama but after the stroke Mama had she talked to me every few days. I realized she just wanted to make sure I was doing fine! She passed away same year as Mama but months before as she died in the spring...
Emma Sue (Duke) Ford of Moody, McLennan County, Texas United States was born on January 4, 1913 to Emma D (Little) Duke and William Jesse Duke. She had siblings Jefferson Harrison Duke, William Alec Duke Sr., Minnie Lee (Duke) Jordan, Louis Ingram Duke, Bertie Lou (Duke) Watson, Jeannie Ethel (Duke) Kennett, Joe Edmond Duke, and Jessie Evelyn (Duke) Brast. She married Beryl Franklin Ford on December 15, 1930 in Milam County, and they were married until Beryl's death on February 1, 1980 in Bell County. She had children Bruce Alvin Ford, Jo Ann (Ford) Gilbert, Elaine Ford Randolph, Sue Carol Ford, and Rosemary Ford. Emma Ford died at age 85 years old on February 6, 1998 in McLennan County, and was buried in February 1998 at Powers Chapel in Rosebud, Falls County.
