Esther May (Martz) Phillips was born on February 26, 1927 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania United States to Clarence Lafayette Martz and Helen Ruth (Bennett) Sponenberg, and had siblings Ruth Arlene (Martz) Thompson, Madeline Marian (Martz) Corderman, Helen Marie (Martz) Sponenberg, Emma Elizabeth (Martz) Vanderpool, Clarence Eugene Martz, Betty Jean (Martz) Marshall, Wilbur Lafayette Martz, and Beverly Ann Martz. She married John Campbell Phillips. She would also marry Gilbert Leslie Hine, and they had children Faith G. Hine, Marie Hine, and Sherri Hine. Esther Phillips died at age 65 years old on March 22, 1992, and was buried in March 1922 at Elimsport Cemetery in Elimsport.
