Fred Moore
I have two old studio photographs belonging to the MOORE Family of New York State. The first is a photograph of Justin H. MOORE and his sister Berta E. MOORE which was taken in New York City, NY on 15 Jan 1891. Justin is identified as being 7 years old at the time and Berta is 3 1/2 years old in the photograph. The second photograph is one of Fred MOORE which was taken at the Borman & Johnson Studio in Newburgh, NY most likely in the early 1900's with Fred appearing to be about 15 years old at the time the photograph was taken. The photographs were recovered together so I'm guessing that there is a connection.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Justin and Berta:

Justin or Justen Hartley MOORE was b. 13 Jan 1884 in Brooklyn, NY to Albert Star MOORE (b. 1855) and Elizabeth HARTLEY (b. 1860). Justin was one of three children born to this couple including siblings Alberta MOORE (b. 1888) and Sarah MOORE (b. 1892). Justin married twice, first to Evelyn BANCROFT (b. 1892) and they had a daughter, Elizabeth H. MOORE (b. 1920), his second marriage was to Rosa TAMBORREL-SIQUEIROS-GAVALDON (1899-1971) in Mexico on 11 Jun 1927 and they had two children including John Hartley MOORE (1928-1972) and James MOORE TAMBORREL (1930-1983). Justin died 13 Sept 1962 in Mexico.

His sister Albert E. MOORE was b. 1888 or 1889 in New York State to the same parents and married Elisha J. REED (b. 1871) and they had a daughter Ann Hartley REED (1923-1981). In 1940 and 1950 the family was living in Palo Alto, CA.

I am not sure how Fred MOORE fits into the family.

I’d like to get these photographs back to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this MOORE Family, or you know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
