Christmas shopping would have been a lot easier....maybe a bolt of fabric for the sewers in the family....a pocket knife for Johnny....if you were lucky there might be a little doll for done....LOL

as a kid in the 1950's the family traveled across country every summer and I remember many, many little towns along the way still had stores like this … and a big ice chest out front, filled with soda
