Glen L. Hummels, c1947

Glen L. Hummels, Chief Warrant Officer, Grade 4, Ret. U.S. Army, was born August 26, 1927 in Hildreth, Nebraska, and died February 26, 2003 at home with his family in El Paso,Texas. A 44 year resident of El Paso, he was the loving husband of Agnes, who he met and married in Shanghai, China, in 1948 while stationed there with the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of the Korean War. While stationed at Ft. Bliss in the Army, he also taught at the El Paso School of Electronics. After serving his country for 26 years in the military, he continued with Civil Service at WSMR and Ft. Bliss in the Air Defense field, and finally as an instructor and programmer during the early stages of development of the Patriot missile system. He also worked for Audio Consultants installing sound systems throughout El Paso for a number of years during this period. He finally retired in 1993.
