This "baby boom" photo of a cute toddler from circa 1949 contains elements that only Boomers would recognize!

I can see that we used and reused before this snowflake generation keeps blaming us for polluting! same snowflakes that buy and throw away everything.

This kid wasn't exactly living in the lap of luxury. Migrant farm labor? Until about 5 years old, I can remember a LOT of boarding houses, following Dad's various construction jobs. But then I wasn't a Boomer - I'm "Silent Generation", the smallest in the 20th century.

Bob Gaines What is the silent generation, I'm genuinely interested. My brother and sister were baby boomers but I was a surprise who came later so it's complicated. I was raised as a baby boomer but wasn't the right age to actually be one.

Scilla Webb Robison Silent Generation! Roughly speaking, Americans born between January of 1928 and the end of 1945. MUCH smaller generation due to the hardship of Great Depression and World War II.

Todd Garrison I was born in 1990. Boomers far precede me in age. It makes no sense to throw around a ridiculous phrase when people like you can’t even pinpoint the correct generation of the person speaking 😂😂😂

Mary Katherine Howard Boomer is a state of mind more than an age group these days.

Caroline Gaston no, it’s the label used for a specific age group. Lots of people who fall into the “Baby Boomer” category do not share the same state of mind...that would be profiling, and to my knowledge profiling is a big no-no nowadays.

"only"? Younger people can't learn about the past? Maybe the chance for building intergenerational bridges is smaller than I thought.

I feel like captions like this are written to bait older commenters and are frankly rude to younger ones with an interest in history.
Hey Sarah I'm one of the small team that started AncientFaces 19 years ago and still run it today. Completely understand your sentiment. I am 38 and definitely don't intend to be rude to anyone my age or younger. Thank you for sharing your view tho. We really appreciate it. Just want you to know we don't mean to be rude to anyone. In this PC world it's rather hard to not insult someone anytime we say anything 👊

Daniel J. Pinna "politically correct" is usually just a negative spin on "being kind and considerate of others and treating people not as stereotypes but as individuals". Personally, I don't find this particularly difficult; it just involves thinking about how the people of whom or to whom you are speaking will feel about what you are saying, and if it is negative, whether it is fair, accurate, and necessary.

Daniel J. Pinna it is also important to remember that impact is more important than intent. I appreciate that you do not intend to be rude, but if the impact is unnecessary divisiveness (and don't get me wrong; sometimes one needs to be divisive), then the intent doesn't matter.
We have no control over how one gets impacted by stating a fact.
