Jeffrey Holbrook Obituary
Holbrook, Jeffrey Allen
Flint
Age 67, beloved Flint radio personality, passed away at home on August 22, 2023 with the love of his life, Debbie, by his side. His passion for rock music and his loving spirit will live on in the Flint area for many years. Jeffrey Allen Holbrook was born on June 24, 1956 in Big Rapids, Michigan to the late Ralph Allen and Jean Ann (DeLong) Holbrook. The family moved to Flint Township where Jeff remained his entire life. At a very young age, Jeff knew he was destined to work in radio. Upon graduation from Carman High School, he completed his communication degree at MCC and was hired in 1977 as a DJ for WWCK 105 FM. While growing a large following, his many talents helped make 105 the top-rated rock station in the nation. Following 105, Jeff worked at various stations until radio, as he knew and loved it, had changed. He was employed at Vidon Plastics, Inc. until his retirement which allowed him time to expand his photography business and enjoy woodworking.
Jeff is survived by his life-partner, Debbie Sholes; step daughters, Amy (Adam) Moore and Bethany Sholes; grandchildren, Dylan, Katilynne, Leili and Willow; sister, Mary Jean (Diane) Holbrook; brother, Ken (Mary) Holbrook; niece, Holly (Justin) Sybesma and family. Jeff will also be missed by his extended family and many friends. Per Jeff's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM at Davison VFW Hall 8031 E. Court St. Davison, Mi 48423. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Debby Stevens
I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
