Jessica Dawn Julius was born on July 19th, 1986 in Centerville, Illinois, to Kevin D Julius (1961 - 1995) and Glenda Julius. Jessica's father predeceased her and she and her mother were living alone when Jessica died.
Jessica was age 17 and 21 weeks pregnant with her baby Autum when she was murdered by Adam Mann, who was then 26, and Brandon Rankin, age 18. It is believed that she was killed because of paternity concerns: neither of the young men wanted to be a father. See Defendants sentenced in two 2004 homicides to read an article about her murder and the conviction of the perpetrators.
Jessica was a senior at Huntingdon High School when she was murdered. According to a newspaper article published a few days after her death, Jessica's advice to underclassmen was "Enjoy your time in high school. When you're a senior, you will realize how fast those years went by."

In January of 2007, the murderers were sentenced to decades in jail. See Teen sentenced to 40 years for murder for an article that appeared in The Jackson Sun detailing the convictions.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
