I love the way the little boy is resting his hand on his grandmothers lap.. there seems to be genuine affection there. Granny looks very proud.

Yes! And this is a "lost" photo bought at an antique shop - so sad that a family full of affection lost this treasure.

That's so true. One could try to imagine why he was photographed with her alone.. perhaps his mother died and his grandmother raised him. It's a lovely photo.. thanks for sharing.

I think the boy has passed. It was common in those times to take portraits with their loved ones that pass. Photo were expensive and it was the only time they could usually afford it. You can see the stand behind him and on the floor behind him. It's a beautiful photo.

That was not 1932 so he was an OLD man when he died people....They often used stands wind children in the 1800 when this was obviously taken to keep them from slumping as it took a long time..I don't think granny would be so happy if the child were dead His hand might look that way because he moved it..
