Joseph Benson Henderson

I have an old photograph of Joseph B. HENDERSON which was taken at the Minehart Studio in Pittsburgh, PA when he was 1 year old. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Joseph and his family:

Joseph Benson HENDERSON was b. 15 Oct or Dec 1892 in Pittsburgh or Burchfield, PA to parents Homerus “Homer” Watson HENDERSON (1855 or 1857-1909) and Rose Ella BARR (1863-1932 born in Ohio) who were married 20 Jan 1892 in Pittsburgh, PA. Joseph had two siblings including Homer W. HENDERSON (b. 1894 in Ohio) and Margaret HENDERSON (b. 1897 born PA). In 1918 draft records Joseph is identified as an unemployed bookkeeper. The family was living in Pittsburgh in 1920 with his mother listed as a widow and all three grown children still living with her.

Joseph married Dr. Jean Ramaley FOIGHT (1894-1984), and they had three children including Joseph Benson HENDERSON III (1929-1998); Harry Foight HENDERSON (1930-2015); and Margaret HENDERSON (b. 1932). Joseph died 30 Nov 1974 in Pittsburgh, PA. When his wife Jean died her obituary listed her surviving family members including Dr. Joseph B. HENDERSON of Los Angeles, CA; Harry Foight HENDERSON of Austin, TX; and Mrs. Arnold (Margaret ) PETERSON of Gibsonia. PA.
