Joseph Daniel "Bud" Schira Obituary

Joseph Daniel Schira, 80, Wausau, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Wausau to Joe Sr. and Helen Schira. On Sept. 9, 1950, he married Geraldine Jandrain.

Joseph served in the Air Force during World War II. Joe owned and operated Northland Marine in Wausau for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Schira, Wausau; seven sons, Joe (Barb) Schira, Wausau, Jeff (Diane) Schira, Marathon, Jaques Schira, Des Moines, Iowa, Judd Schira, Ankenie, Iowa, Joel Schira, Fort Collins, Colo., Jim (Jackie) Schira, Wausau, and John (Colleen) Schira, Hilbert; two daughters, Jamie Schira, Shawano, and Joline Schira, Raleigh, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Vogel.

Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 712
Market St., Marathon, with the Rev. Joe G. Diermeier officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
