Joseph Daniel Schira, the son of Joseph Vincent Schira Sr. and Helen Mary Conklin, was born on October 7, 1925. He had a sister, Joyce Helen Schira (1924-1998). Joseph grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin, and graduated from Wausau High School. Following his schooling, he served as an Aviation Cadet in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. On September 9, 1950, he married Geraldine Magdalene Jandrain (1928–2015). Together, they had seven boys and two girls, raising their family in Wausau, WI. Joe owned and operated Northland Marine in Wausau for over 30 years. On December 15, 2005, at the age of 80, Joseph Schira passed away in his hometown of Wausau, WI.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
