Julius Fritjof Bruseth was born in 1899 in Silvana, Snohomish County, Washington United States to John Anderson Bruseth and Elen Gundersdatter (Helseth) Bruseth, and had siblings Gunder Adolf Bruseth, Dora Rosalie Bruseth, Peter Albert Bruseth, Ruby Ida (Bruseth) Oberg, Ida Bruseth, Carl Palmer Bruseth, Anna Guruna Bruseth, Olaf Bruseth, Gudrun Bruseth, Josef Edward Bruseth, Jartrud Elise (Bruseth) Engebretsen, Tina Sofie Bruseth, and Kristin Marie (Bruseth) Funk. He married Mamie Merietta (Tyler) Bruseth on October 5, 1941, and they were married until Julius' death on March 13, 1975. He had children James Bruce (Bruseth), Ellen Christine (Bruseth) Buhr, Jeanne Francis (Bruseth ) Petersen, and Melva Vernice (Bruseth) Walser. Julius Bruseth was buried at Anderson Cemetery, Stanwood Cemetery Association 7630 Pioneer Hwy, in Stanwood.

We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
