Christopher David Monson was born on April 1, 1948 in San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, California to parents Jacqueline Lois Monson (Dec 30, 1925 - Mar 17, 2007) and Charles Elbert Monson (Jul 20, 1925 - Jun 11, 2021). He had siblings Nancy Ann, Kerry Lee, and Michael Kevin Monson. His father worked in the oil fields of California, and over a 15-year period, the family lived in 22 different houses as he pursued a career in the well-drilling industry including residing in Bakersfield, Oildale, Sacramento, Ventura, Santa Maria, Van Nuys, Coalinga, and Seal Beach, California. Chris graduated from Long Beach Junior College and earned a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate. He worked for many years in hospitals specializing in treating patients with chemical addictions. At twenty years old, Chris had a severe accident that left him with lifelong physical problems. Early one foggy morning, he was riding his motorcycle to work on the freeway when he collided at full speed with a car stopped in the driving lane. The impact launched him through the air, and he landed with such force that he broke both wrists and both legs. Several months later, it was discovered that he had also suffered a brain injury, which caused him to experience seizures for the rest of his life. In his fifties, a spinal injury left him unable to work. He used a cane and was almost homebound. Chris became an avid blogger, posting several times a day and corresponding with other bloggers. He maintained two blogs: "Snaggletoothie of the Loyal Opposition," focused on conservative politics, and "The Chinese Jar," dedicated to discussing great books. On Monday, January 24, 2011, Chris had a seizure and fell, hitting his head. He suffered a stroke and passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011.
