June 7, 1955 ~ October 15, 2016 (age 61)

One of Heavenly Father’s choice sons returned home on October 15, 2016. Kim Brent Holbrook was born June 7, 1955. He was the third son of Reid Rampton and Lola Hodgson Holbrook. He was always considered a special gift to his family.

Kim had a great love for people and always had a heart-warming smile that would light up the day of those who came into his contact. He attended Davis County schools and the Monte Vista special education program. Kim always had a strong work ethic and went to work every day with much excitement. In 1974, Kim began a thirty-year career at the Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center (PARC). We thank all the people at PARC for the compassion, love and support they provided over the years.

Kim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived a difficult but simple life that gave everyone who came to his contact a greater understanding of love, charity, happiness and service. Kim was always humble and was gracious for all the service he received in his life.

Kim had a great love for his family and was always happy when they would come and visit. He also loved his ward family at the Bountiful Woodland Hills and Farmington Davis Creek 1st Wards.
Our father and mother dedicated their lives to the love and care of Kim and his sister Lynette. Even after our father’s passing, our mother provided this care for years until she was no longer physically able to do it on her own. This is when Allyn Rogers took both Kim and Lynette into her home. We would like to extend a special thank you to Allyn and all the caregivers who assisted her, for all the love and care they provided over the last six years.

Kim is survived by his brothers, R. Scott (Joy) and Val H. (Bunny); his sister and life-long companion, Lynette Holbrook. Kim is also survived by nine nephews, four nieces and their families with thirty-six children.

Kim’s funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Woodland Hills LDS Chapel, 640 South 750 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Friday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.

Debby Stevens
I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
