...I would think this picture had to have been taken somewhere in the East Texas area since that is where all my photos are from... I found this man, or this picture, enticing in that there is nothing else around him whatsoever... I tried to enhance the calendar behind him, but could get no information... I asked help from others, and the only thing any of us could come up with were wonderful stories about who he might have been or what he might have been doing... I would guess it would be some kind of court building or bank building maybe, because of the bannister in the front, but who knows...use your imagination, and if you should recognize him, please let me know...
...what is this rather large, and rather stern looking man doing... ...what is that rather large book in front of him, and the rather large desk he sits behind... the walls with what seems to be nothing but shades on the windows, and maybe a calendar, and not much else around him... could he be a judge, or maybe a bank clerk, we can only wonder...
This man looks like a judge in Trinity, Trinity Co. TX....if it is him, his name would be Joe Chandler. He passed away in late 2002 or early 2003. (No Relation)

Researching surnames from East Texas right now, i.e. Green, Hinson, McLeod, Cooper, Patterson, and will come back on and update this later. I am mainly coming to this site by recommendation as I have lots of old pictures that I would like to share with others and will be scanning and uploading to this site for that reason.
I am researching the Charley and Willie Williams families, the Stephen Sparks Smith families, the Ernest Benjamin Standley families, the William Cleveland Lane families, Reuben Richards families, and Lige Ephram Stout families, all of which ended up in Texas before 1890.
