Larry “Wade” Holbrook passed away August 11, 2016 in the home of a close friend. He was 46 years old.
Wade was born on January 5, 1970 in Seattle Washington. He was the first child of Larry and Julie Holbrook. He was described as a curious, friendly, and active child with a sharp mind and a keen sense of compassion for those around him. He graduated from high school in Kent, Washington and went on to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Provo Utah from 1989 to 1991. After returning home, Wade decided he loved Utah so much he moved there to finish his degree. He met the love of his life, Laura Westberg and they were married April 1, 1994 in Pleasant Grove Utah.
Wade and Laura have six children, who are his pride and joy. Wade graduated from BYU with a bachelors of science degree, and then proceeded to do his graduate work and receive his Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from New Mexico Highlands University. He was inducted to Psi Chi from the National Honor Society in Psychology.
Wade was always a missionary at heart and made it his life's goal to help inspire and support others through their trials, even while going through many of his own. He possessed mad nun chuck skills, loved old trucks and fixing things. He was always the comedian, loved to make people laugh, and had nicknames for everyone. The family lovingly recalls the fun road trips and vacations they took where Wade would make up stories about how towns got their names; he was a great storyteller. He was the author of #wadeisms which were little quips of wisdom that were sometimes funny, but often very incredibly insightful. He wasn’t a great cook, but he always made the best Christmas morning breakfasts. His girls shared how he used to wake them up singing songs, something his sisters recall as well. The songs were always sung loud and with gusto (tough to take in the morning) and are now a cherished memory. He loved fast cars, and his dream car was a Tesla Roadster. When he wasn’t making jokes, supporting the family with his very successful doTERRA business, or helping his wife and kids, he was lifting weights and making all men jealous of his bench pressing prowess while doing his best "Arnold" impression. This helped to enhance his popular “pect dancing” talent. His business associates remember him fondly as a friend, motivational coach, public speaker, thought leader, teacher and partner.
He was preceded in death by: his Grandparents: JB and Pat Collier, Steve and Leota Holbrook: and also by Shay Pace his son-in-law. He is survived by his wife Laura Holbrook and children Brianna Pace (Shay), Caitlyn, Alyssa, Emma, Grace, and Wesley “Wes” Holbrook, his parents Larry (Barbara) Holbrook and Julie Holbrook, his Sisters Jenny (Michael) Proctor and Angela Davis (William Fox), Step-brothers James, Robert(Janell), and Joseph Jurey and step-sister Christina (Scott) Van De Grift. In addition, his In-laws the Westbergs with whom Wade enjoyed many family activities, as well as many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. Wade never met a stranger and leaves behind countless friends from all walks of life.
Special thanks to everyone for all their love and support through this most difficult time, and especially to the doTERRA family.
