Lilburn Scott Holbrook 1966 - 2017 age 50, of Bronston, Kentucky

Lilburn Scott Holbrook, age 50, of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2017. He was born on August 8, 1966 in Covington, KY, to Mildred Holbrook Stephens and the late William E. Holbrook. He was a Meat Packer for Kroger Grocery Store. Scott is survived by one son, Traten Holbrook of Florence, KY; one daughter, Brianna Holbrook of Berea, KY; his Mother, Mildred Stephens of Bronston, KY; four brothers, William Mitchell Holbrook of Texas; Marty Joe Holbrook of Newport, KY; Alonzo Dale Holbrook of Somerset, KY; and Gary Summers of Tennessee; and five sisters, Eva Catherine Miller of Sanders, KY; Crystal Elaine Holbrook of Somerset, KY; Elizabeth Kaye Stephens of Florence, KY; Lilly May McGlone of Somerset, KY; Violet Jewell Downing of Ohio; and Melissa Brummett of Bronston, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his Father, William E. Holbrook, he was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Holbrook. Visitation will be on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. His funeral will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will be in Bronston Cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Lilburn Scott Holbrook Memorial Fund c/o Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, KY 42503. I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
