A simpler time in Las Vegas - 1940, Main St. Our love goes out to those who were there, the injured, those killed, and their families. Does it ever stop?

It will never stop until some thing is done to stop it!! Society becomes more desensitized to this type of horror each time it happens and nothing changes..It is white males who do this cowardly acts and it is white males who are responsible for new legislation to change laws that would at least make it more difficult for mentally ill and persons of interest to FBI and any law enforcement to get weapons!!! WHY did nothing change after Sandy Hook..when innocent children were killed..What does it take to get these damn lawmakers to do something about this!!!

This man showed no signs of mental illness. There's nothing anyone can do about something like that.

Plenty of black males, Hispanic males, Asian and Arab males, commit crimes everyday, not to mention the female perpetrators of all races and creeds who pop up from time to time (Aileen Wurmos comes to mind here, and if I recall, she used non-guns, including a fork or a screwdriver(?) and a knife). No one demographic is wholly to blame. We all bleed red, and six feet of earth makes us all one size.

You can't fix people. "People" aren't the problem. It's the individual, with their individualistic and subjective-reality mindset, that is the true issue. Comments such as yours only add fuel to the fires of fearful distrust, xenophobia, and discrimination that we're constantly seeing day after day. There's also that old adage, "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

If people are truly intent on senseless mayhem and human slaughter, where there's a will, there's always a way.

Not hardly, Sherry Rowe, I'm merely stating facts that murder itself is not a race issue in that persons of ALL races, at one time or another, can be found guilty of. Since I don't know you personally, and you certainly don't know me at all, I really don't care what your presumption of me is. I do know, however, that I don't need flawed opinions such as yours commenting on my posts. I'll thank you to stop wasting my time. This doesn't mean that you win, it means that I'm going to be the bigger person and walk away.

And yes Carolyne, when it comes to mass shootings, perhaps whites are the majority perpetrators. However, the racial chemistry of the whole world is changing, and in the decades to come, we will see more persons of color committing these crimes. The white people will be a minority.

I'm done wasting my time and trying to defend myself. You can't reason with the masses. Have a nice night, ladies!

I'd like to point out that race has nothing to do with mass shootings. The nation is horrified by big numbers all at once, but where is the outrage as black men murder each other using guns in greater numbers than the mass shootings combined? I'm not even sure why you'd bring race into it, why does it even matter?

Ah yes, Las Vegas... The gangster's desert oasis.

I used to be a Democrat until they kept badmouthing as incessantly as the Republicans. People are getting crazier by the generation. If it weren't for the party icon buttons, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
