Marion Julia Pierce Hatch
I've recovered an old photograph album from the late 1800's including faculty and students from Oberlin College including a photograph identified as Mrs. HATCH. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Mrs. HATCH likely in her 40’s or 50’s at the time it was taken. Most of the photographs, like this one was taken by the Pfeifer Studio from Columbus, OH who probably came to take all the photographs at the Oberlin campus. I believe that this is a photograph of Marion Julia PIERCE HATCH. I was able to gather the following information regarding Marion and her family:

Marion Julia PIERCE was b. 9 May 1835 in Peru, MA to parents Thomson or Thompson PIERCE (1810-1880) and Harriet LITTLE (1813-1888). Marion had two siblings, Ellen F. PIERCE (b. 1840) and Elisha Mack PIERCE (1845-1923). Marion married Reuben HATCH (1814-1908) on 10 Apr 1860 in Windham, VT. The couple had four children including Winfield P.; Arthur Thompson; and Leonard Williams; and Walter Elisha HATCH, all born between 1861 and 1872. Marion died 26 Oct 1908 in Oberlin, OH and is buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.

I would like to get the photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
Date & Place: at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio 44074, United States
