Marshall Richard Reckard
I have an old studio photograph of Marshall RECKARD which was taken at the Tollman Studio in Portland, OR. Marshall is identified as 12 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Marshall and his family:

Marshall Richard RECKARD was b. 15 Nov 1887 in Portland, OR to parents Arthur M. RECKARD (1860-1919) and Alice Mary STORAN (1866-1945) who were married in 1886. Marshall had one sibling, a sister Emily RECKARD GROVE (1889-1966). Marshall married Coralyn E. BANER (1886-1977) and they had a daughter Alice Mary RECKARD CORBETT (1921-2010). Marshall died 21 Jun 1946 in Portland, OR and he is buried in the Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery in Portland, OR.

His obituary indicates that he attended the old Atkinson School in Portland and was prominent in football, baseball, and basketball during his high school years at Portland High School. Marshall was in the hardware business in the Irvington neighborhood in Portland for most of his life and a member of the Multnomah Club. He was survived by his wife, daughter, and two nephews Earl M. GROVE and Marshall R. GROVE, both of Portland, OR. Marshall’s daughter Alice was an Oregon State Senator from 1959 to 1965.

Marshall’s father owned the Portland Gun Company and the Northwest Gun Company before starting a family Hardware Business in 1910. When his father died in 1919 Marshall was living and working in Seattle, WA.

I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be placed in their care. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
