Mitsugi Nomoto is the son of Kenki and Koume Nomoto. He was born on February 11, 1924 in Winslow, Navajo, Arizona, USA and had two younger sisters Kyoko and Shoko Nomoto. He attended and graduated from Winslow High School in Winslow, Arizona, USA. Mitsugi Nomoto resided in Winslow, Navajo, Arizona, and registered for military service on June 30, 1942. Mitsugi then enlisted in the military on July 8, 1944, at Ft Douglas, Utah. He joined the Infantry branch of the United States Army as a Private. He served as a Private in the United States Army during World War II.
