Mrs. Isom (Judith Ann Spencer) Sheeks

The back of this photo has Judith's name [with just the middle initial]and the date 1909. She was the daughter of Hiram Spencer, married Isom Sheeks on 10 Oct 1872, and died 23 Nov 1935. Her father's picture hangs in the Sheeks House, built by George Sheeks, David L.'s father, that is on display at the Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell, Indiana, and accompanying it a statement saying: "Hiram Spencer, Born October 27, 1801, Died November 1881. The Spencer family and the Sheeks family were clsoely related by inter-marriage. Mr. Spencer was a shoe-maker by trade. He made all the shoes for the Sheeks family. At one time he operated the ferry across White River at Palestine."
