This photo was found in the collection of Mary Alice Montgomery Howard b.1899, after her death. She and husband Lee were from the Magoffin & Morgan County area of Kentucky; Lacey & Coon Creek areas. Alice was the daughter of Farish & Sarah Skaggs Montgomery and the granddaughter of Miles & Franky Cantrell Montgmery and Arthur & Lucinda Rigsby Skaggs.
This photo is surely of someone in the family. Stamped on back of photo is the address of the photo shop, in Portmouth, Ohio. Several of the family worked in Ashland, Kentucky, just across the river from Portsmouth. Some eventually moved there. This picture may be from a branch of the family that did move to Ashland, Kentucky, or Portsmouth, Ohio. But the picture did end up with relatives back in Magoffin County, Kentucky.
