This is my grandmother standing with a soldier. The era is WWI. I don't know what year this was, but it was around the time of WWI, and she was around 20.

My grandmother was born in 1897 and lived through two world wars. She was an exceptional person who made us clothes and helped our family when my father was out of town. She was also a baker. She and her sister ran a bakery in the small town where I was growing up. I will never forget her apple and pumpkin pies!
