Norman Earle Blankman
Norman Earle Blankman was born on July 9, 1919, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to parents Samuel W Blankman (1893-1954) and Sadye D Cohn (1894-1985). He grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, and had a younger brother, Howard Milford Blankman (1925-2017). In 1937, Blankman graduated from Lancaster High School (Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA), where he was part of the Vidette Staff, Hi-Y, Tennis, and photography. Norman Earle Blankman served in the military during World War II. On October 16, 1940, at the age of 21, he registered for the draft in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he resided at the time. He then enlisted on January 22, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Upon enlistment, Blankman was ranked as a Private, Selectee (Enlisted Men), and signed up for a one-year enlistment term. During his time in the military, Blankman's physical attributes were recorded as 5'9" tall, weighing 155 pounds, with a dark complexion, black hair, and blue eyes. On February 26, 1946, he married Evelyn White (born 1924) in Salt Lake, UT, USA. Later in life, Blankman operated the Finkelstein Dry Cleaning establishment in the first block of South Queen Street in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
