Where is the house located?
Very interesting house. Do you know any other history to the house? Where is it located and is it still standing?

I am hooked on genealogy.Luv It! Searching for Catlin and Smith genealogy of Marion and Boyle Co.Ky. I love to hear from anyone with anything that is true and correct about theses families. Having a lot of roadblocks or brick walls because of Civil War. Would appreciate any free help.

Seth Emory Washburn from IL but born abt 1846 NY to Thomas Daniel WASHBURN b MA and JOSLIN wife. Seth, a Union soldier, fathered a son Robert E. WASHBURN with Louisa Jane COIN (Coen) BOLIN during Civil War in/near Springfield MO or Christian Co, where Robert was born fall of 1864. Robert E. Washburn, a musician, composer, music teacher died Oct. 1910 St. Louis, MO with 3 children by 2nd wife Mary Elizabeth Cavanaugh, Ties to Springfield, Green Co MO where he married 1885 1st wife Annie Morman. She was granted divorce from Robert 1888 in Springfield MO. McLain and Agee lines: Charles McCLAIN d1846 Weakley Co TN, b 1780-85 in ?? Carolinas and wife Elizabeth UNKNOWN are parents of my ggg grandfather Charles McLain / McClain / McLean, b about 1804 TN or IL, married to Perlina Unknown, b about 1811, TN, with children born in TN: Christiana, David, John Henry and Esquire / Squire. My Weakley Co TN McCLAIN line (DNA tested and we match exactly on 67 markers) appears to have been in Adair Co KY, then Warren / White Co TN, prior to going to Gallatin Co IL and acquiring land 1817 in IL, then came to Henry Co / Weakley Co TN. My ggg grandparents the son Charles & Perlina migrated before 1850 into eastern AR and settled in Lawrence Co near present day Walnut Ridge where they had another son 11 yrs after Squire born--William California McLain, b 1853, Lawrence Co., ARK. The wife Perlina unknown died 1860 / Mortalitly Schedule. Question I have--did Charles go to California between 1850 and 1852 and had son William California, b1853, after trip? Just a thought due to odd middle name of his son, born 11 yrs. after Squire, b 1842, TN. And what is maiden name of Perlina Anna ..is it FLETCHER, name of man (Wm H. FLETCHER) who mar 1859 Lawrence Co AR David W. McLAIN's widowed wife Susannah E. MULLINS. David was son of Charles the son of Charles. The son John Henry McLain married Sarah Catherine AGEE, b about 1842 TN--no parents for Sarah, but older Agee "family" William and Georgeanna / Leannah AGEE live near them in Lawrence Co., AR. Marriages to POINDEXTERs by 2 dtrs on the AGEE line. My McLain family in Lawrence Co. are on 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. Charles McLain b 1809 remarried Sarah Harmon Fry Riley in 1866 and he dies 1869 (record)-- and his estate administrator, son John Henry b 1837 TN, dies in 1880. Not sure what happened to John's wife, Sarah Catherine Agee, b 1842, TN--but I may have her photo in what appears to be about circa 1915-20, with a son William David McLain (my great grandfather) b1859 AR who died 1921 Newport, Jackson Co., AR. I am researching my SMITH's that start with Gulielmus Smith, born abt. 1735, in Hanover Co, VA. He moves his family to Granville Co, NC about 1762 and there he lives out his life as a large Slave and Plantation owner. Most of his sons leave the area and move to the Claiborne/Campbell Co, TN area. His son, Ransom D. Smith moves to Marion Co, TN in 1830 and this is where he remains until death. Most of his children follow him to Marion Co, TN but others either stay in Eastern Tennessee or go on to MO.
