Unidentified Photo found in box of other old photos belonging to Beverly Thompson Collins, my distant Thompson cousin.
This old tintype appears to be from the 1840's to 1850's, and the age of the man appears to be about 50 to 60 years. We believe this may be one of three men: Father of Tidings Thompson, or Rev. Benjamin King, or Elias Harris Kimbrell. The father of Tidings (b.1807 NC)may be named Thomas,Wm, or John Thompson (orig.from Northampton & Bute Co., NC, later in Warren Co., TN). Rev. Benjamin King was b.1772 in Bedford Co.VA., m.Elender Cole in 1792 Bedford Co., VA. Their dau. Elender married Tidings Thompson. These families lived in Wayne Co.TN. The 3rd possibility is Elias Harris Kimbrell b. 1809 NC or Boone Co. KY. He married Malinda Thompson b. 1811 KY, sister to Tidings Thompson. Their dau. Nancy Elizabeth Thompson married Wm. Franklin Kimbrell, son of Elias & Malinda (my 3rd gr.grandparents). Am hoping someone will recognize this photo and be able to solve this mystery for us!! Thank you.
