Generations were entertained by a comedy legend who passed last weekend on July 31. From the tv show "Make Room For Daddy" to Ursula in Disney's "The Little Mermaid", her almost 90 year career touched so many lives.

Married to a William Morris talent agent for 20 years, and with 3 high school aged children, Pat Carroll (1927 - 2022) was left on her own in 1976 to support her family. She fell back on her talents and what she knew - she had been performing since the age of 5. She just got up, dusted herself off, and "started all over again". Not only funny, she was also one plucky lady!

She made us laugh and she made us shiver in her wicked animated roles. Pat Carroll, you were one of a kind and you will be missed. RIP. Discover more about Pat's life .

My grandma and I went to see Little Mermaid in theatres, when it opened, Christmas of 89. I loved it! I still love it to this day. Rest in Peace, dear lady.

I'm confused by your statement that after being left alone to raise her kids "She just got up, dusted herself off, and "started all over again". She had never stopped. She had 100 acting credits right up to 1976 and just continued doing what she had always done. She was a fine entertainer.

She married talent agent Lee Karsian in 1955. They had 3 children and they divorced in 1976. During the 1950's to the 1970's, Pat was all over television. Some of the shows were: Caesar's Hour, Make Room for Daddy, The Red Buttons Show, The Danny Kaye Show, The Red Skelton Show, and the Carol Burnett Show. She has been a fixture on tv, theater, and in cartoons, doing voice-over work (Pound Puppies, Scooby-Doo, Garfield, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and more). She was active until her death. For fifty years I have been a Document Examiner and that is how I earn my living. For over 50 years I have also been a publicist for actors, singers, writers, composers, artists, comedians, and many progressive non-profit organizations. I am a Librettist-Composer of a Broadway musical called, "Nellie Bly" and I am in the process of making small changes to it. In addition, I have written over 100 songs that would be considered "popular music" in the genre of THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK.
My family consists of four branches. The Norwegians and The Italians and the Norwegian-Americans and the Italian Americans.
