Ray & Ira PRICKETT

I have an old studio photograph of Ray PRICKETT and Ira PRICKETT which was taken at the Leonard Studio in Topeka, KS. The two appear to be in their teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding these young men and their family:

Ray Luther PRICKETT was b. 27 Jun 1890 in Topeka, KS to parents John Breckenridge PRICKETT (1853-1916) and Hannah “Anna” or “Annie” Eliza BURROWS or BURROUGHS (1864-1916) who were married 17 Dec 1879 in Macon Co., MO. Ray was one of 6 children born to this couple including Vallie Blanchard; Pearl Ida; Elizabeth “Libby” Mary; Raymond Luther; and Ira Allen PRICKETT, all born between 1882 and 1892. His father was married previously and had two additional children including Cyrus Lawrence PRICKETT and Jesse E. PRICKETT born between 1875 and 1881.

Ray married twice, first to Hazel Cleo PUCKETT (1896-1973) with whom he had four daughters including Cleo Berniece PRICKETT (1913-2001) and three others. He then married Irene Nancy “Nannie” BALLARD (1893-1967) on 16 March 1914 in Hudsonville, MS or Shelby, TN and they had two sons, Kenneth G. PRICKETT (b. 1924) and Paul K. PRICKETT (1931-1946). Ray died 24 Dec 1965 in Portland, OR and is buried in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Portland, OR.

Ira Allen PRICKETT was b. 23 Jul 1892 in Topeka, KS to the same parents and married twice, first to Carrie Frances DENNER (1892-1917) on 17 Apr 1913 and second to Margaret A. LEVIS (b. 1898). Ira died 5 Jan 1947.
