I have an old studio photograph of Robert SCOFIELD which was taken at a studio in New York sometime in the 1880's with Robert appearing to be about 6-9 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Robert is also identified as the "son of Robert Barnes SCOFIELD" and "father's youngest brother". Not sure which Robert is referenced as the youngest brother. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Robert and his family:
Robert Barnes or Barns SCOFIELD was b. 1847 in New York to parents James SCOFIELD or SCHOFIELD (b. 1812) and Mary SCOFIELD (b. 1820). Robert was one of 5 children born to this couple including Ebinezer; Ann; Thomas; Robert Barnes or Barns; and James SCOFIELD or SCHOFIELD, all born between 1841 and 1853. After his mother died his father remarried and another child, Alfred SCHOFIELD was born in 1857.
Robert Barnes or Barns married Jane “Jennie” G. ANDREWS (1849-1932) on 5 Apr 1871 in Manhattan, NY and they had a son, Robert Barnes or Barns SCOFIELD Jr. b. about 1872 in New York. Robert Barnes SCOFIELD Sr. died 1 Sept. 1891 in Manhattan, NY and his son Robert Jr. died 22 Apr 1907 in Manhattan, NY
I am hoping to get the photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.
