Robert Charles Clossen
Robert Charles Clossen was born on April 19, 1921 in Wilmington, Delaware, USA to parents Charles Clossen and Edna Mary Farnan (1902–1975). He had many half siblings including Leonard Farnan, John Farnan, Bernard Farnan, Francis Farnan, Phillip Farnan, Christine Marie Kaczmarcyzk, and Patricia Farnan. Robert enlisted in the Army on March 6, 1939, when he was just 18 years old and began his military service as a Private First Class in the National Guard. He served in either the Coast Artillery Corps or Army Mine Planter Service. In September 1940, Robert was called to active duty and served for the duration of World War II. During his time in the Army, he rose through the ranks and was eventually promoted to Private First Class. He served as an enlisted man throughout his military career that spanned from 1939 to 1945. Robert was discharged from the Army on May 28, 1945. He was married to Alfreda V Clossen (1922-2006) and the couple had three children together including a son, Brian Clossen (1958-1987) and two daughters Julia and Lisa Clossen
