Ruth Arlene (Martz) Thompson was born on June 29th, 1939 in Pennsylvania to Clarence Lafayette Martz (1893 - 1961) and Helen Ruth Bennett (1903 - 1967). Both of his parents were born in Pennsylvania. She had eight siblings: six sisters, including Emma, Madeline, Helen, Esther, and Beverly and two brothers, including Clarence.
Ruth Martz married Ronald Edward Thompson (1939 - 2003) in 1960 and they had three daughters: Blythe, Tam and Laurie Thompson.
Ruth Martz Thompson died on October 5th, 2010 at the age of 71 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was survived by fourteen grandchildren.
