Seivert Agre
I have an old studio photograph identified as Sivert AGRE which was taken at the A. T. Dahlquist Studio in Duluth, MN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880’s or 1890’s with Sivert likely in his 20’s or 30’s at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Sivert and his family:

Seivert A. AGRE was born about 1861 in Norway and came to the United States in 1892. Seivert married Bergitte or Bergetta Sofie OSTENSON LUDWIGSON (1877-1968) on 30 Apr 1907 in Douglas County, WI and they had a son Stanley Andreas AGRE (1913-2003).

His wife had been married previously and had two additional children including Finn Robert LUDWIGSON (1902-1973) and Anton LUDWIGSON (1904-1959) who she brought to the United States in 1905 from Norway along with her mother Sofia OSTERNSON and her sister Ostinca OSTENSON. The two boys used the last name AGRE in later years.

Seivert was a Liquor Merchant when they were first married and later worked in the Shipyards as a laborer and a trimmer. Seivert died 10 Jun 1929 in Duluth, MN. His son Stanley was b. 3 Sept 1913 in Duluth, MN and married Caroline MASTAGILO (1915-2002) in 1938 in Minnesota and they had a daughter. Stanley died 4 May 2003 in Duluth, MN.

I am hoping to get the photograph back to his family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
