This small girl with pigtails is a total mystery. My cousin from NC sent it so may be a relative - some surnames are: Pridgen, Lanier, Arthur, Heritage, Coombs, Sugg.

I believe the child in this photo is a boy, based on the outfit and the hair; the hairstyle was typical for young boys (6 and under) in late 19th, early 20th century. Hope this helps! :-)
