Talman Joseph Riness was the son of Charles Andrew Riness Jr and Ellen Mildred Riness. He had siblings Timothy James Riness (1948-2019), Thomas Jay Riness (1951-2011), and Tyrus "T J" Riness (1955-1992). Talman was born in Eureka, California on February 12, 1959. He later resided in Santa Rosa, Fortuna, and Arcata, CA. He attended Fortuna Union High School in the late 1970's, see Talman Riness- Fortuna Union High School. Talman Riness passed away on December 12, 2006.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from.
