This is the Thompson Brothers, although different copies we have give the names in different order, and some say Evert as the fifth name, so we are really unsure who is who, and have no date or place for the photo. It is possible that the name order should be (Clockwise from top left) George, Ras, Clabe, William, James. I believe Ras is short for Eurastus or Eurasmus, and Clabe for Clayburn. James William is my G-grandfather, and he was born in Missouri ca 1854 and died near Calvin, Oklahoma ca 1931, but also lived in Texas. We do not know much more about the family than is contained in this photo, and another of George's three daughters (Nellie, Lola, and Elsie). James' children are Jess, Pearl, Omie, Ruby, Georgia, Gladys, and William. Any info will be greatly appreciated. [contact link]
Which name goes with which face? What, if anything, does the Indian thunderbird drawing on the backdrop (top, center) mean, or why is it there?
I was recently sent a letter from someone (I'll post later) regarding the Thompson & Turner families having something to do with Native Indian Heritage. The Thompson & Turner families that came to TX. If you look at the men they look slightly Indian, however I could be wrong. I am a Turner/Thompson descendant.
